WATER ALERTS IN MEXICO – UPDATE January 6, 2025
As of December 2024, approximately 27% (661275 square kilometers) of Mexico is under drought conditions and 16% (385285 square kilometers) is Abnormally dry. A slight territorial decrease since our previous report on December, 6 2024.
There are 5 Drought Alerts in Mexico, the same number as in our previous Report. Most alerts are in the Sonoma and Chihuahua states in the north of the country.
Nuevo Casas Grandes, was downgraded from Exceptional Drought to Extreme Drought.
