WATER ALERTS IN MEXICO – UPDATE November 11, 2024
As of October 2024 approximately 20% (483330 square kilometers) of Mexico is under drought conditions and 14% (335564 square kilometers) is Abnormally dry. This down from our September report.
There are 6 Drought Alerts in Mexico, down from 11. Several drought alerts were recategorized as the drought abates in some regions.
Three locations - Camargo , León , San Juan del Río, - are no longer on our Map, as they were downgraded from Extreme to Severe or Abnormally Dry.
Delicias, Hermosillo, and Nuevo Casas Grandes, were downgraded from Exceptional Drought to Extreme Drought.
WT map displays only extreme and exceptional drought locations.
